How to Use Sormat ITH Mortars – Step by Step

1. Drill the right size hole

Use a drill bit that matches the anchor rod diameter. Drill to the required embedment depth (hnom). Blow out the hole.

2. Clean: brush and blow out

Always clean the hole properly using a brush and air pump. Repeat until the hole is completely clean.

3. Test the cartridge

Insert the cartridge and mixing nozzle into the dispenser. Squeeze out 10–15 cm to ensure the mix is even.

4. Fill the hole with mortar

Fill about two-thirds of the hole in solid base material. Only prepare a few holes at a time.

5. Install the rod by rotating

Screw in the anchor rod while turning it. This helps the mortar fill the threads fully.

6. Let the mortar cure

At room temperature, the mortar cures in a few minutes. Once cured, chip off any excess material.

Tip: You don’t have to use the full cartridge at once. Keep the nozzle on for storage. When reusing, switch to a new nozzle and test the mix again (see step 3)
