Part 10: Fixing installation depth
The basic rule is that the deeper you install the anchor, the better you can utilise the compression and traction strength of the fixing base, resulting in a stronger fixing. Always follow the maximum thickness of the object being fixed specified in the installation instructions, tfix, and the installation depth hnom.
Particular attention must be paid to the installation depth if the fixing base is covered by plastering, upholstery or insulating layer. In this case, in selecting the suitable fixing length, the thickness of the non-load-bearing layer, such as plastering, must be added to the maximum thickness of the fixed object tfix.
NOTE! The installation instructions for Sormat S-UF® and S-UP® frame plugs specify the permissible loads for two different installation depths and the thickness of the material fixed, thereby being applicable for most fixing needs.
